What a change it seems, that so long ago my teeny little sis was just getting used to the "huge" middle school, she was nervous, as we all were. Now she will be just beginning her new "teenage" life, no more "preteen".
Just as it seems life is just beginning, another old life is fading. Lost are the years where mom and dad can help with the easy math, here are the days of difficult geometry. I consider middle school as a transitional state from elementary school into the real world of high school. The transition being difficult to some, easy to others. For me it was a time of struggling with grades and home life, and beginning to lose myself in the hustle and bustle of daily life in American schools.
High school is a place of drama, drama, and more drama. "Oh, she's dating him?!" or "Ohmygosh! I can't believe she's actually wearing that!" Sometimes my day is riddled with migraines and pulsing pain because of that babble. As the year progresses for my sister in high school, I hope she figures out that, if you want to make through life, just tune out every dumb thing like that.
Well, however my sisters new high school life goes, I hope she enjoys every second of it, for these are the best years of your life and no matter how bad it seems, high school will go by too fast and you will be out in the unrelenting world with new friends and enemies. So, good luck sister. Good luck; with life, with friends, with relationships and grades. You will wave goodbye to preteen life and say hello to new teenage drama!
This post is dedicated to my sister Kala.
